Our story
Two growers, one simple idea: good food starts with good plants.
Prime Plants is a small, family-run nursery in Odessa, Florida. We grow herb, vegetable, fruit and pollinator starts for home gardeners across Tampa Bay who want to know exactly where their plants came from and how they were raised.
Every plant we sell is started and grown right here, outdoors, in the same heat, humidity and afternoon storms it will face in your yard. By the time it goes home with you it has already proven it can handle Florida.
How we grow
- ✓ No synthetic pesticides, ever.
- ✓ No synthetic fertilizers — we feed the soil, and the soil feeds the plant.
- ✓ Small batches, so nothing sits on a bench getting root-bound.
- ✓ Varieties chosen because they actually perform in Central Florida.
A note on labels: we are not a certified organic operation, so you won't see us use that word for our plants. We'd rather just tell you exactly what we do and don't do — and you're always welcome to ask.
